So yesterday turned out to be a great Valentines day! When I left you Wednesday, I had that little delimma of wrapping up my husband's Valentines gifts. Well turned out I went to do it the following morning. I got a shower and then he went to do the same. So I took that opportunity to grab his stuff out of the van. I snuck out, opened the back of the van, pulled back my sweater coat to NOTHING. My heart SANK! I almost lost it right there in the garage. Where the heck were the gifts!?!?! Not only Valentine's day for him, but his birthday gifts too (his bday is tomorrow)!! I combed the house.....every room, cubby, cabinet and drawer. Did he accidently find his stuff and is now messing with me by hiding it? No, can't be......
Well I found the bags. They were in the garage back where we have a few random boxes and some Christmas decor. I let out a HUGE sigh of relief. Turns out my dear sweet daughter thought I wanted her to hide the gifts, so she took it upon herself to do so......without telling me. Nice for once she took some initiative *eyeroll*
Once our daughter arrived from school we all set off to the town over so that I could hit a furniture store there and order my swivel glider and ottoman I've been lusting after for YEARS. I was set on ordering one from Pottery Barn Kids (over $1200), but luckily a girl on a message board I frequent lead me in this other direction. I got basically the same chair and ottoman for less than HALF that cost PLUS got to choose the fabric and color. Pretty sweet deal. I am a happy pregnant lady :D
Afterwards we decided to grab a bite since it was still early enough in the day we could get into a restaurant without waiting 2 hours. We had a lovely meal at Outback Steakhouse! So all in all it was a great Valentine's Day!
Today I didn't do much of anything. Haven't stepped out of the house actually. I woke up and have been battling a nice sinus headache. It's eased up some now that I finially decided to take some Sudafed. One of the many perks of being pregnant is the EXTREMELY short list of medication you can take for relief.
The kids took a needed afternoon nap while Bob and I dined on a childhood classic: fishsticks and macaroni. We then laid in our bed and snuggled while watching "The Wrath of God" on the History Channel LOL - it was a series about various snow storms and blizzards that have occured in the US, including the story about the Donner party in the Sierra Nevadas. Pretty interesting stuff.
Days like this happen and you think two things........#1 Man I am SO old that staying home all day, watching the History channel and doing nothing is considered a GREAT day and #2 Why can't I have more days like today!?
Have a great weekend and talk to you soon!
