It's part of the reason I haven't blogged all week. I had been gearing up for the little shin dig I hosted here at the house Friday for Kailey. We had family over and Kailey had a couple of her girlfriend's here as well. I ordered out most of the food......fried chicken, veggie tray......and my sweet MIL made her famous potato salad. That just left me to make my yummy bacon baked beans and taco salad. We also had some chips and dip....and of COURSE cake and ice cream!
Kailey chose her cake & theme......no surprise it was Pittsburgh Penguins LOL She asked for a photo cake using a picture we took at her first (and only so far) hockey game back in January. She is standing in front of a poster of her favorite player, Sidney Crosby, at Mellon Arena......they did a good job with the cake I thought:
So the party went off without a hitch and no one left hungry :) Kailey's friends slept over......I use the term 'slept' but in actuality they stayed up til 6am. Bob and I were too exhausted to get out of bed and yell at them to go to sleep LOL Lucky them!
Saturday one of her friends left around 9:30am and I took the other girl home after we went to see a matinee.......which I had to leave 1/2 hour into because Roman wanted to go to the van and watch HIS movie *ugh*. We went to this girls house and stayed for her sister's birthday party.......I am really good friends with her mother, I'm not just a hungry pregnant lady trying to scam some more birthday cake hehehehe. The little girl turned 3, so she is the same age as Roman and they are best buddies. It was nice to relax and let the kids run around and play in my friends giant country yard. They had a blast, and so did I. We didn't get home until after 9pm! Needless to say I was SPENT!! After a hot bath I hit the bed and sacked out big time.....
Today I worked on a few loose ends I had around here, had Kailey write out her Thank You cards and then we worked on her science fair display board that is due Tuesday.
So basically I was just plain busy this weekend LOL It was nice though. Although this does kick off birthday season for our family.....not to mention Mother's Day is in there and OH how can I forget I should be having a baby in a few weeks!
There was my weekend in a nutshell. Hopefully I'll be back to blog again before NEXT Sunday.......So far my week this week doesn't look too busy. Whew. I'm glad cause I need a little break :)
